Unintentional Hiatus

Wow, this little blog has been sorely neglected for the last couple of months. That’s what basketball season will do around here. I did try to work on some photography skills during basketball by shooting on manual as much as possible. I feel like the function I’ve learned the most about is the ISO setting. Not well enough to explain it to someone else yet, but I’m getting there! Here are a couple of my favorite shots from this season.

30 Days of Gratitude :: Day 14 – Movement

This is a picture of my husband crossing the finish line of the Athens Classic Marathon this weekend. He’s the one on the far left, and his actual time was 3:36:40 – a whole 9 minutes faster than his goal time. I’m so proud of him, and I’m so thankful that we were able to go to Athens this weekend so he could accomplish one of his life goals – running the original marathon route.

30 Days of Gratitude :: Day 12 – Hands

Watching sporting events is always a very powerful thing for me. I think it’s the whole idea of someone pushing themselves to reach an amazing goal. Now, of course this isn’t true of all sporting events, but it is definitely true of a marathon. One of the most inspirational things I saw this weekend was a woman who did the 10K race. She has cerebral palsy and walked the whole race with a cane and a friend holding her hand. How amazing to accomplish such a thing. How incredible to have someone hold your hand the whole way.
