View from the Flakturm

The Haus des Meeres is located in one of the old Flaktuerme from World War II. You can walk around the balcony of the Flakturm and get a 360 degree view of Vienna. It’s kind of awesome.

30 Days of Gratitude :: Day 28 – Nighttime

Wow! This last week really got away from me. My last few entries in the Gratitude Challenge are about a week late. Better late than never, right? Last night Matt and I walked around downtown for a bit. The Rathaus is my favorite building for a whole lot of reasons, not the least of which is that this where Matt proposed. I love this building during Christmas – especially at night. It’s just so beautiful!

On Your Feet!

The challenge at I Heart Faces this week is “On Your Feet!” My entry is a photo from the roof of the Naturhistorisches Museum Wien. The roof has statues of a number of famous scientists. I didn’t check to see whose feet I took a picture of, but I love this shot. Giant feet with Vienna in the background!

30 Days of Gratitude :: Day 5 – Morning Sky

I got up at 5:30am this morning in hopes of getting a picture of the Riesenrad with the sunrise behind it. That’s right, 5:30am, which means you know I am committed to this challenge. Alas, it was a completely overcast morning. The upside is that by messing around with my camera in manual and underexposing my shot, I got this picture which I think is kind of awesome.
